Information about Painted Wagons Residencies

The residences are situated on a small family run farm/livery yard. Artists are invited to take part in an exchange of ideas, thoughts and skills to develop something new. Invited artists are encouraged to engaging with, and respond to the farm location, the country park, the animals and/or the areas mining heritage.
The aim of the residency is to develop ideas through any media exploring the boundaries of entertainment. At the end of the residency the work/performance/findings will be displayed/performed/recorded.
Artists Sally Anne Roberts and Jonathan Roberts have developed these art residencies under the title of @Painted_Wagons.  Artists will have access to an old railway goods wagon to use as a studio. This wagon reflect the areas industrial history and rich local mineral mining past, and has been used as animal housing for many years after the local pit closed.

The caravan is situated within the heart of the farm, making the comings and goings of daily farm life intrinsic to the residency.
